John Cooper is a visitor to Mr Harrison's corner shop whilst Richie and Eddie are looking after it for Mr Harrison. He is portrayed by Michael Redfern. In "'s Up" John visits the shop to complain that he hasn't had his paper delivered, and points out to Richie that the copy he is holding must be his because it has his surname written in the top corner. Richie ridicules John by suggesting that he was pointing to the price on the newspaper, 55p, and labels him "Mr 55p" mockingly. Not taking any further abuse, John violently assaults Richie and takes the newspaper, bidding a friendly farewell to his mate Eddie as he leaves.
